What are beef shares?

Beef shares is a cost effective way of buying fresh beef. What you’re doing is sharing the cost of live Angus (delicious beef) to bring the overall price down. You’re investing in local farmers with premium-quality, healthyfresh beef.

How much beef can I expect?

The answer is simple! It depends.😉 When trying to nail down exactly how much meat you’ll get there are several factors at play. It’s normal to see a 100-200 lbs difference in hanging weight of steers. Science shows that older steer are not as tender so we may have steer that are a bit smaller or larger than 1000 lbs. Our goal is to provide you with tender beef. Take a look at this graph from the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food, & Forestry to give you an idea. Please keep in mind this is an estimate of what you may receive in a whole live steer and not an exact list

Beef Prices

Clover Hill Angus works hard to maintain competitive pricing with other local farmers.

  • We’re selling live Angus for your specific processing needs. 
  • We sometimes take smaller steer for processing.
  • Steer may have a live weight between 750 – 1100 lbs.
  • Share prices are calculated on hanging weight and not finished weight of your beef. 
  • We offer DELIVERY of live steer to our butcher.
  • As your steer goes for processing we’ll let you know the weight.
  • At this time, we do not ship steer; we offer local pick-up locations in Roanoke and surrounding communities.

We require a non-refundable, deposit within two weeks after you place an order. Your deposit will be deducted from the overall final cost that’s due at pick-up.

Make sure you reserve your share by the available dates. Don’t miss out there’s limited space.

  • Don’t forget to fill out the online fillable Clover Hill Angus Customer Cut Sheet. If you don’t fill out a customer cut sheet, Clover Hill Angus will do so for you. Changes to your customer cut sheet cannot be made after your steer is delivered to the butcher for processing
